Three of My Favorite Restaurants for Wake Students in Winston-Salem, NC

My friends and I have made it our mission to try as many restaurants in Winston-Salem as
possible throughout our college experience. I have started to compile a list of some of my
favorite places, and I want to share them with you.

Cibo Trattoria
Cibo is a great Italian restaurant with a lively atmosphere. With dim lighting and good service, it
is the ideal location for dinner. I like to order the chicken parm, which also comes with spaghetti.
My friends always order the fettuccine alfredo and I would highly recommend trying that as
well.

Mizu
Mizu is an Asian restaurant with delicious sushi, as well as dishes such as fried rice and
vegetable spring rolls. I always order a salmon avocado roll, a Philadelphia roll, and a yellowtail
scallion roll which I highly recommend. It is always crowded with both students from Wake and
families from the Winston-Salem area. The employees are both friendly and efficient, and the
food always arrives in a very timely manner.

Taco Mama
Taco Mama is a Mexican restaurant that has a very fun atmosphere and youthful clientele. It is
filled with Wake students every Friday night. The line runs far outside of the door and can
sometimes be a wait of a half hour. However, it is totally worth the wait because once ordering at
the front, the food arrives at the table within five minutes. I love getting their cheese quesadilla
and chips. Always remember the side of guacamole and queso!

Go out and support these fantastic restaurants! As great as the Pit and the Benson Center are, we
can all use a break from the school food and should explore the greater Winston-Salem food
scene and the restaurants it has to offer!
