Style Spotlight: Meredith Gay

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Hello collegiettes, Arianna here! As the new Campus Style Blog editor, I will be implementing a new feature on the style blog. Once a week, a WFU fashionista will be featured, with details of her outfit and her personal style. Our inaugural collegiette is my beloved roommate, Meredith Gay!

Year: Freshman

Outfit: pants- Francesca’s (similar here), tank top- Old Navy (similar here), sweater- Banana Republic (similar here), shoes- Jack Rogers (can be found here)

Style: The perfect mix of preppy and trendy. Meredith loves to implement preppy items such as Jack Rogers into trendy outfits. Her palazzo pants are a great transition piece into spring; they are light and comfortable, but still keep your legs covered in class. Her bright sweater adds a fun spring vibe that parallels the beautiful weather. Meredith’s combination of preppy and trendy shapes her unique style and makes her stand out on campus.

Fashion Must-Have: Ballet flats. “I love wearing ballet flats with any outfit. They dress up your look and come in so many different patterns and colors, so you can add a pop of color to a plain outfit or tie together a look with a neutral color.”

To recreate Meredith’s look, keep a few tips in mind. If you’re wearing palazzo pants, especially patterned ones, stick to neutrals in the rest of your outfit. Accessorize with minimal jewelry and plain shoes. Your pants are a statement piece so let them draw attention without too much else going on with your outfit.

Hey collegiettes! I'm Arianna and I am a freshman at Wake Forest University. I love all things preppy, but also like to incorporate trends into my wardrobe. I plan to major in communications and possibly minor in French. I can't wait to begin my Her Campus career and hope you enjoy my blog posts!
