While I am normally ready for a break after uber-exhausting finals and posties, I am not ready for the abysmal weather that awaits me back home. I had just gotten used to being able to wear my dresses and summer sandals, but unfortunately it has rained every day (except one!) since I have been home. For those of you collegiettes⢠like me who have returned to the chilly and rainy North, you have probably encountered the epic footwear dilemma. Itâs warm enough to wear your frock with a sweater but the Hunter rain boots just donât look right with the outfit. At least not during the summer. And although Jack Rogers are usually your go-to, leather sandals just donât work so well when itâs pouring. I do however, have some practical, cute solutions, collegiettesâ˘!  I am never one to pass through Nordstromâs shoe department without stopping, and I inspect shoes in magazines with the same concentration as when I study for an exam. Needless to say, my love for shoes helped me to run across my now-favorite Jack Rogers jellies.Â
Â
They have the same âlookâ as my favorite leather pair but donât get ruined by the rain. They are also good for the school year because you can wear them in any fraternity basement and throw them in the sink afterwards so that they look brand new. I have also been impressed by Tory Burchâs jelly version of her popular Thora Sandal. Like the Jack jellies, they look good with a summery outfit but can withstand thunderstorms and their inevitable puddles. These are two of my favorite options for jelly sandals, but almost any shoe store will have other jelly options within any price range.  Topsiders are also an option for a more casual look. Theyâre classic, and theyâre actually meant to be worn around the water. Â
Â
I have definitely worn mine in the rain and while I have found that the condition and materials of the shoe can handle water, they do not necessarily keep my feet dry. But alas, thatâs a problem that most shoes have yet to solve. Happy summer showers!
