Collegiettes! With a ton of work over the next few weeks rounding us out to Fall Break, our lovely student government constituents have collaborated with the administration to bring us one of our all-time favorite campus events: Sieze the Quad! It’s this Saturday, and so in typical HC-style, we’ve decided to collect a few tried-and-true tricks of the trade to keep you partying smart and in style this Saturday. Read, and sieze!
What Should I Wear?
While the spring Sieze the Quad usually calls for cut-offs and manks, this Saturday is going to bring decidedly Autumnal weather. No, we’re not saying break out your puffer jackets and Ugg-boots, but chunky sweaters and Western boots will not only keep you looking seasonally stylish, but also warm. It’s Sieze the Quad, which means lots of outside frat lounge-ing and walking around. Don’t attend under-dressed, and therefore unable to partake in the fun to the fullest!
What About Drinking?
Collegiettes, let’s be clear: you are only supposed to have canned beer on the quad. No glass bottles, and no cups. Don’t spend STQ evading the campus police…it puts you at risk, will ruin your good night, and might even serve to get STQ cancelled for future semesters! If glass bottles are absolutely your thing, do what you must before entering the quad. It’s better for you, and everyone else.
What Should I Bring?
If you’re bringing beer on to the quad, remeber: a maximum of six beers per person. You’ll also need your Wake Forest ID to enter the quad, either from the Davis or Poteat circles. Short of that? Bring yourself, your girls, and of course, your ready-to-party attitude!
Where Should I Go?
Whether your a freshman experiencing your first STQ, or a senior celebrating for (gasp!) one of the last times, the key to seizing the quad is to move around! This is the one time a semester where all of the fraternities on campus are essentially in the same place, so use the time to visit your tried and true crowd, but also wander outside your typical realm. STQ is super-casual and relaxed, so if you have your eye on that cute guy from Spanish who just isn’t in your usual circle, stop by his lounge this Saturday! You never know who you’ll meet.
So that’s it, collegiettes! STQ is a fantastic Wake Forest tradition, and if you follow our simple tips, you’ll be seizing safely, and in style, See you all there!
