The Perfect Eyeliner Products For Your Holiday Look

As we near the holidays, we also start one of my favorite seasons of the year: award show season! One of my favorite parts of these shows, from the Grammys to the Oscars, is the red carpet and the make-up looks showcased on it. Eyeliner is a staple of these looks and with everything from cat eyes to barely there liner, the array of options for a collegiette when shopping for liners can be dizzying, but here are some of my favorites.

Eyeliner pencils are best for shading and blending with eyeshadow or alone for a softer, more natural look. They come in a variety of colors so you can decide how dramatic or how neutral you want to go with your look. I’ve also found them to be the easiest to use. My personal favorite is Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil. Depending on how you choose to use it, it can be put on more heavily for a more dramatic look or blended for a more casual look.

My personal favorite type of eyeliner is the liquid pen. I love liquid eyeliner because it is more intense and bold, and the pen makes it super easy and quick to apply. It also makes subtle cat eyes attainable with a simple flick of the wrist! I have been using L’oreal’s Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner for the past year, and I can’t get enough of it!

If you’re going for detailed and precise liner that takes a little more time to apply, liquid liner is the way to go. Often it comes in a small jar with a fine point brush that you use as you would a pen to basically paint the liner on. While requiring a level of preciseness and a steady hand, the results can be great! Liquid liner is great for a bolder look or if you are going for a specific style, like a more dramatic cat eye or wings. Prior to my conversion to the liquid pen, MAC’s — was my absolute fave, and I would definitely still recommend it!
