Comedy: Emergency IntercomÂ
This is definitely the most interesting podcast on this list and one of my favorites of all time. The hosts are two social media influencers that have been popular since Tumblr and Vine. The hosts’ names are Enya Umanzor and Drew Phillips. They talk about their day-to-day lives and share funny stories. This podcast fits well with my ADHD brain because it jumps from topic to topic. They joke about very goofy things and also very serious topics such as mental health and the struggle of growing older. This podcast can make you think and can definitely make you laugh. They have the amazing ability to just share the exact thoughts that are in their head. This is perfect for Gen-Z because the hosts and their style of comedy embody many of the characteristics that people use to categorize Gen-Z. Â
Mental Health and Self-Care: MoodÂ
This podcast is by Lauren Elizabeth, known for her lifestyle and wellness blogs and other forms of social media. She’s been sharing intimate details of her life on social media since 2011. Her podcast digs into mental health, self-care, and balancing moods. She talks about her current mood, her low moods of the week, and her best moods of the week. She makes sharing her mental health and her struggles seem like less of a big deal than a lot of other creators. I think this is why I like and relate to this podcast so much. Generation Z is known for being more open about their mental health and differing mental health crises, so I feel as though many can relate.Â
Wellness: The Wellness CafeÂ
This is a podcast that is perfect for walks and a little self-healing. It gives tips on how to improve your life and enter your clean girl era. This is something that has recently become popular, especially in Gen-Z. It gives tips on how to live a healthy and productive lifestyle and is very aesthetically pleasing. It’s a Gen-Z woman who is popular on different forms of social media named Trinity Tondeleir. Her podcast is about different forms of wellness such as accomplishing your goals, friendships, healthy habits, and so much more. It really fits well into the Gen-Z lifestyle.Â
News: What’s Next?Â
This is an amazing podcast that is hosted every weekday by Lizzie O’Leary. It gives a quick 30-minute summary of what has been going on in the news and the world for that day. It’s a super easy and quick podcast to keep you informed. I feel like that is something that’s very good for Gen-Z’s fast-paced lifestyle. They describe world events and updates in ways that everyone can understand.Â
Crime: Crime JunkieÂ
This is my favorite crime podcast of all time. They’re very fast-paced and descriptive podcasts. It is run by two women, the host, Ashley Flowers, and the researcher, Brit, who also provides commentary and facts within the podcast. This podcast comes out every week and I’m a weekly listener. It sounds like you’re sitting around and talking about crime with some of your friends. They’re able to keep you very invested even when describing dull moments in the case. This is good for Gen-Z because this is a less serious tone and has good commentary to keep you entertained. This is the perfect podcast for a crime junkie!
