Hometown: Winston-Salem, NC

Major:  History   Minor: Education and Medieval Studies

Birthday: September 19, 1991

Relationship Status: Single

Her Campus (HC): So you just got back from studying abroad this summer, how was that?

Jake Reynolds (JR): It was awesome, I had a lot of fun. I was in Oxford, England taking a Medieval Literature course.

HC: Judging from your pictures it looks like it was such a great time. So you live in Winston, why did you decide to stay in town?
JR: For my little brother; he was born my senior year of high school, so I wanted to stay close so that he would get the chance to know me.

HC: Aw that’s really thoughtful of you. I guess you’re pretty close with your family?

JR: Yea, definitely.

HC: So what are you active in on campus?

JR: I go to class, I play intramurals – basketball, football, and soccer. I get pretty competitive.

HC: I feel like most boys do! Now that you’re a senior, do you have any wise words for the freshmen?

JR: Hmm…don’t skip class, (laughs) at least not too much. I skipped way too many classes my freshman year; I might have even taken a second spring break that year.

HC: Wow, I would have been so stressed with the work! What would you say your biggest regret was freshman year?
JR: Trying to be pre-med. I’ve always wanted a job where I can help people, so I figured I would try to be a doctor…but then I realized I’m not really good at math and science. So, I switched to history. I figured I could help people that way and become a teacher.

HC: It’s good you were honest with yourself! Okay, lets get into some fun questions. Who is your celebrity crush?

JR: Scar-Jo (Scarlett Johansson).

HC: Is there anything not many people know about you?

JR: I moved a lot when I was little; my dad was in the military. North Carolina is the fifth state I’ve lived in.

HC: Did you move anywhere cool like overseas?

JR: Nah, just around the country a bunch.

HC: What’s your biggest turn on?

JR: I like when a girl is confident. Not necessarily waitingfor the guy to take control all the time.

HC: So, like, if she were to go out and ask you on a date…

JR: I’d be down for that.

HC: Biggest turn off?

JR: Uhm, when a girl is too bossy. I don’t like being told what to do too much.

HC: Your best pick up line is…

JR: I don’t really use pick up lines. They’re too corny.

HC: Good choice. Describe a great date.

JR: Dinner and maybe go for a walk or out to ice cream. Or maybe being downtown at a bar; I just like to talk and hang out.

HC: Favorite ice cream flavor?

JR: Mint chocolate chip.

HC: That’s mine, too! What would you say is the key to your heart?
JR: Probably sports. It’s really cool if a girl is into sports.

HC: Did you play any in high school?
JR: Baseball and football.

HC: Are you a music fan?

JR: I like folk music – Mumford & Sons, Passenger…

HC: Have you been to any concerts lately?

JR: I went to a Mumford & Sons concert in London while I was abroad; that was awesome.

HC: I bet! Okay last few questions. What’s one thing you cant live without?

JR: My grill.

HC: Really?

JR: Yea I love being able to cook for myself. Burgers, BBQ chicken… things like that

HC: Do you have any guilty pleasures or weird habits?
JR: I don’t think so… I’m trying to think. My roommate says I talk in my sleep. That’s kind of a weird habit I guess?

HC: Do you have any plans for next year? Are you planning on staying in Winston?
JR: I’m trying to get into grad school so I can go for my masters in teaching. I’m not sure where I want to go though; I know I want to teach inner city. I’ll probably get out eventually.
