As the last few days of classes are upon us and Christmas music is playing in Starbucks, the last thing any of us want to do is hunker down in the library for days on end.  Finals can be extremely overwhelming, trust me we’ve all been there. I have a few pointers that may very well save your life during these few weeks, I kid you not

First things first start studying early. Like I mean start now. Spend an hour or two studying each day while finishing your other busy work. Then when it really comes down to crunch time you’ll be much more familiar with the material and you’re less likely to have a panic attack. When it comes to studying, the library can be so packed at times that you may want to check out other spots, like Tribble, Greene, or the upper levels of Benson.  Remember that you have no obligation to go out this weekend. If you think you time will be better spent studying, stay in. I promise there will be another Christmas party. In fact, Sig Ep steals Christmas every October!

A favorite drink must also be discovered before the hardcore studying commences, preferably something with caffeine so that when you’re fading fast you’ll have a delicious pick me up.  I cannot stress enough that you need to eat well during finals. I know you’ve heard all this before, but Wake Forest finals are a b*tch, so I mean business. The pit goes HAM during finals, so grab some berries to stock up on antioxidants. Lastly, sleep, sleep, sleep. Getting your normal amount asleep is super helpful for effective studying and acing those massive tests.

Take a deep breath, I’m 85% sure you’ll make it through. Be thankful you’re alive and well to take your finals, because not everyone is. But also eemember to enjoy this lovely season. Happy Holidays and Happy Studying, collegiettes.
