Fashion in the Forest: Rainy Day Outfits

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

I thought the saying called for April Showers, but lately October has stolen the show as the rainiest month yet at Wake. Here are some rainy day outfit ideas for those bitter, showery days.

Sporty with a Chance of Showers

Lululemon pants and sports bra, Nike tank top, and Mizuno sneakers

Weather (pun intended) you are planning to hit the gym or not, throwing on your favorite workout attire with a raincoat or umbrella is an easy, comfortable, and practical way to look cute on drizzly days.

Sweaters for Sprinklings

Nothing is better than feeling warm, cozy, and stylish all at the same time. For this look, grab your basics: a t-shirt and leggings. Then, throw on an oversized sweater and boots. Voilà!

Perfect for Puddles

One of the most essential parts of a rainy day outfit is a pair of fun rain boots. Not only do they prevent your feet from getting wet when campus is painted with puddles, but they can add a pop of spunk to everyday attire.

Hurricane Hoodies

Another essential piece of any rainy day outfit is a rain jacket (duh). A light but stylish jacket helps keep your hair dry on those damp, overcast days. Hurricanes, such as Joaquin, call for more heavy-duty rain jackets that will keep you dry from sideways rain.

With all the rain Wake has been seeing lately, these drizzly day essentials should be a staple of every collegiette’s closet. Stay warm and dry out there!
