$EN!OR Strugs: What to Get Your Friend For Graduation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Many of you have friends about to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas. This is a time for celebration! However, there may be looming anxiety about what gift to give your close friends. If you are struggling to come up with the perfect gift, here are a few suggestions to get you started:

1. Something Handmade

You can never go wrong with a thoughtful, handmade present. Think about painting a canvas for your friend’s post-grad apartment, or make a photo collage of your favorite pictures together. You can even write a heartfelt note. Pretty much anything DIY is always a great idea!

2. Jewelry

There are just so many options. You can get an engraved bar necklace, a cute watch and anything monogrammed is always fun too. A pretty piece of jewelry will remind your  friend of you when she wears it.

3. Apartment Goods

Wouldn’t it be great if all apartments came fully stocked? Help your graduate by buying him or her some necessities for their apartment. Even cute throw pillows, blankets, kitchen supplies, or room decorations will go a long way in contributing to the overall aesthetic.

4. Take your friend out to dinner

That all being said, nothing can replace quality time. Treat your friend to dinner at your favorite restaurant before commencement and cherish the time you guys have together.

No matter what you decide to get your friend, it’s the thought that counts not the dollar amount spent.
