$EN!OR Strugs: Beach Weekend Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

It’s that time of year again when the grassy areas of campus become art studios for girls painting coolers for their beach weekend dates. For those of you who are new to beach weekend, here are a few tips to survive (and thrive) throughout the weekend:

1. Cooler Painting: try to personalize his cooler with his favorite music, foods and sports teams. I’ve found that my favorite way of “painting” a cooler is by printing out an image and then using Mod Podge to glue it on. Since I’m a senior, I won’t be painting a cooler!

2. Pack Light and Right: Make sure you bring the essentials– sunscreen, bathing suits, and a nice dress for the formal part of the weekend. Also, check the weather before you pack so you know if you need to bring warmer clothes or a rain jacket.

3. Grocery Shop: Don’t skimp on food! But also, don’t overdo it; you want to find a happy medium. Search for another girl to go grocery shopping with. This way, you can split the inevitably high cost of food.

4. Drink Responsibly: Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. And please drink water, too!

5. Have fun: This is fun weekend to create great memories, make new friends, and celebrate the close of another school year.
