A Demon Deacon Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

I don’t know about you but I have been counting down the days, minutes and seconds until Spring Break or, as many have abbreviated, SB2k10. It is a week of much needed rest either spent snorkeling in the Bahamas or traveling on Wake philanthropic trip. I, on the other hand, went home once again with no spring break plans. What is a girl to do? Even the Demon Deacon made it to some great va-cay destinations across the world.
One thing I did do at home is shop. I have been reluctant of this actually happening due to this insane unpredictable weather but spring is coming… hopefully. Sales are appearing left and right, and it is my sole duty to take advantage of it. My mother always says: “You never know who you are going to meet, so dress well”. Therefore I always make sure to look my best, crossing my fingers that a cute guy will notice. Could a summer romance be in my future? I will just have to wait and see! So even though I may not have the most ideal spring break for a college student, I saved my money to splurge on this season’s greatest trends!

Kelsey Garvey is a junior English major at Wake Forest University. Her upbringing in Connecticut, otherwise known as country club land, inspired her to write in order to escape and locate something more. Writing has also acted as her outlet to dabble in subjects far beyond her my intellectual capacity: art, culture, design, fashion, photography, and music. Other than reading Vogue and Vanity Fair cover-to-cover, Kelsey enjoys frequenting the blogosphere, speaking franglais in daily conversation, and laughing at her own pathetic jokes.
