Fall is by far the best season of the year. From the perfect weather and cozy sweaters to Halloween and Pillsbury pumpkin cookies, the fall aesthetic almost (and I repeat almost) makes up for the stress that comes with the new school year. Luckily, Winston-Salem has by far the best fall environment that lasts way longer than back at my home in New York. So here are some of the coziest and spookiest places that you should visit to make the most of the fall season!
Hawks Pumpkin Patch
Fall would definitely not be fall without the anual visit to a pumpkin patch! Luckily campus is only a short distance (15 minutes away to be exact) from Hawks Pumpkin Patch, a five-star rated farm where you can get some of the best pumpkins in town! Get a group of friends together and head over to full immerse yourself in all things fall!

Reynolda Trails
The leaves are finally changing colors and you will no longer be baking in the hot summer heat, so get outside and take a stroll through the trails in Reynolda! There is no greater feeling than bundling up in a sweater and vest and heading outside to watch the leaves fall in the crisp autumn air and the trails are definitely the most scenic place to do it!
Dough-Joe’s in Reynolda Village
The opening of Dough-Joe’s in Reynolda could not have come at a more perfect time, as the warm and fuzzy ambience of the cafe offer the perfect fall study space! Their special autumn drink menu, pumpkin spice donuts, and adorable halloween decor also create the spookiest atmosphere. So make sure to end your walks through the trails with a warm apple cider donut and Graveyard Fog tea latte!

Your House! (Or residence hall)
Although it doesn’t seem like much there are so many fun fall activities that can be done right in your own! Brew yourself a cup of tea, bake those famous Pillsbury pumpkin cookies, and curl up on the couch with your favorite Halloween movie (I personally recommend Hocus Pocus).
