This year I attended the Wake Forest Panhellenic Breast Cancer Fashion Show and was blown away! The models were all students here at Wake who participate in Greek life – but you would not have been able to tell! Each lovely girl and handsome guy strutted their stuff down the runway with ease, confidence, and just the right amount of attitude. Even though the models themselves might have stolen the show, the outfits they were wearing were just as amazing and they were all donated by local stores. So let’s take a look at some of our favorite fashions from the show.

The first walk was a tailgate look provided by Bevello and M. Christopher. Girls were showing some school spirit in adorable black and gold outfits and the guys were preppy to perfection in colorful pants and collared shirts. Our favorite is this fabulous couple – between her to-die-for statement necklace and his pop of pink in the sweater we couldn’t ask for anything more!

The second walk was a day look provided by Gusto. Here at Wake, every day is a chance to show off your fabulous style so it was no surprise when the girls walked down the runway in trendy maxi dresses and shoes that would make any collegiette envious! We really loved this look with the printed maxi skirt and the tied denim shirt which mixes the right amount of hipster and country to create the perfect balance.

After the day look came an interview look by J McLaughlin and following that came a concert look by Rent the Runway. The concert looks were flirty, a little more risqué, but still classy. Our favorite was this embellished long-sleeved LBD with some of the best accessories all night: statement earrings, a chunky bracelet, and finishing off the look, sparkly gold pumps. Remember: everything that glitters is gold!

For the fifth walk, Monkee’s dressed our collegiettes in cocktail attire. Every model rocked a different, fun, and colorful frock that left every sorority girl wishing we had more formals to go to so we could buy every single one! This red, v-neck dress really stood out for us though. The chunky, strappy black stilettos make the dress a little more casual and the gold metallic clutch is right on trend for this fall.

The second to last walk showed us the right way to dress for President’s Ball. So in two years you are all ready to go with the perfect dress (sorry seniors…). These looks were provided by Rent the Runway and Christopher’s Formal Wear. For this walk, the ladies were lucky enough to be accompanied by some arm candy! This couple was our favorite for so many reasons: they killed it with their pose, the pastel purple was one of the best colors of the night, and the guy looked like James Bond in that tux – let’s be honest all he was missing was the British accent… Plus her nude heels and chunky necklace makes this model Queen of the Ball.

The seventh and final walk was an athletic look by Pure Barre. This model also impressed us with her clever final pose. Controlled and cute! She looks comfortable in purple yoga pants a blank tank top and a slouchy oversized gray shirt. Her black sneakers with pink accents and hair in a bun finish off the look. She proves you don’t have to sacrifice fashion when looking for gym clothes. Let’s face it after working out and being sweaty the least we could do to help ourselves is be in an adorable outfit.

The show was a huge success and each model brought a special flare to the looks with their great personalities and genuine smiles. I definitely learned a thing or two about some new outfit ideas too! Overall I would call the 2013 Breast Cancer Fashion Show a win for everyone involved!
