33 Reasons You Should Be Pumped to Be Back at Wake

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

1. Back to school shopping: The school supplies section at Target is like my sweet tooth and Nordstrom is my paradise for finding dresses for formals.

2. Crafting for my dorm room: Canvases. Monograms. Sorority letters. Posters. Pictures. It will look just as flawless as my Pinterest board!

3. Loading up the car with my life. And the majority of my packing being beauty supplies.

4. The long awaited and much anticipated reunion of seeing friends for the first time in three months. Honey, I’m home!

5. Move in: Playing interior designer for the day.

6. Roomie talks: lights out, laying in bed, and having deep heart to heart conversations about life.

7. Having a million choices of what to eat in the dining hall.

8. Walking through this beautiful campus you call home.

9. Seeing your crush or boyfriend or SO for the first time in what feels like forever!

10. Picking out a first day of class outfit.

11. Getting pumped to see who’s in your classes.

12. Going jogging along your favorite paths or forest trails around campus.

13. Theme parties. Where else can I wear my tutu or ugly sweaters?

14. Dancing on stage at your favorite fraternity.

15. Taking naps in between classes. (If only this also worked with that 9 to 5 internship).

16. Donning school spirit attire or summer dresses/cowboy boots for the first football tailgate.

17. Adult sleepovers. I’m now accepting applications for the coveted position of being my cuddle buddy for the year. It looks great on a resume.

18. Watching the leaves slowly change color. Everyone with a camera becomes a professional nature photographer.

19. Working hard or hardly working during a sunny afternoon on the quad.

20. New additions to your sorority as a result of fall recruitment.

21. The opportunity to join new clubs.

22. Or getting even more involved in your favorite clubs, organizations, or sports teams.

23. The chance to enroll in classes to learn something that interests you or take more classes in areas you love

24. Free events and free food. Don’t mind if I do take a free t-shirt! Because it’s not like I have enough.

25. Rounding up the gang and hitting up all the events the Student Union puts on.

26. And having the chance to participate in fun philanthropy events, including dance marathons and 5K races around campus.

27. Intramural sports: bring on the flag football and eye black! Grrr.

28. Retreats and day trips to explore the surrounding area. Four years fly by, so take advantage of the landscape. Hiking. Sightseeing. Skydiving. Visiting museums and historical sites. Those also make great Insta posts. You’ll find me at Pilot Mountain or Old Salem.

29. Munching on your favorite foods at your favorite restaurants! Fourth Street Filling Station, anyone?

30. School spirit! Hearing “Go Deacs” or rolling the quad after a big win.

31. The overall independence you have while being away at college.

32. There’s nothing like always having the chance to meet new people.

33. So why am I pumped to be back on campus? Because it’s my favorite place on Earth.
