3 Reasons Why I’m Glad I Took RAD

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

If you are an upperclassman and have not taken the RAD (Rape Assault Defense) class, then you are seriously missing out. RAD teaches you vital physical self-defense techniques and crime prevention methods.

1. Build your fight confidence.

You are trained to be prepared.

2. The Fight Nights are definitely an adrenaline rush!

You are put in simulated assault scenarios to experience the stress situation for your brain and muscles. The RAD instructors will be fully covered with padded suits so no need to worry about feeling sorry!

3. RAD Instructor, Tony, is insanely flexible.

I thought I was flexible until I met Tony.  He can touch the floor using his – elbows – without bending his knees. And, he does it without a sweat!

“I am strong. I am confident. I will defend myself.”
