13 Things That Happen at Wake When the Weather Gets Nice

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wake Forest chapter.

Dear Weather Gods: Please don’t make us suffer through April showers to get to May flowers because we just might lose our minds along the way. Luckily for us, collegiettes, Winston-Salem’s prospective forecast is looking pretty hot, hot, hot — with temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 for the next week or two.

So, what happens at Wake Forest when the weather gets nice? Let’s see…

1. We say RIP to hot coffee. Iced for the win.

2. Somehow girls wake up bronzed and glowing. Or orange.

3. High waisted shorts. Lots of high waisted shorts.

4. And sundresses. And maxi skirts. Wearing wedges to class — it happens.

5. Since the sun sets later, happy hours have to start…earlier?

6. It’s nearly impossible to find a chair at the Crolo pool.

7. People watching on the patio at Shorty’s. The fact that no one can see your eyes under your sunglasses makes you seem less creepy.

8. Beach weekend 2k15. Enough said.

9. Some teachers hold class outside.

10. Booking it from North Campus to Tribble in 80 degree weather = sweating uncomfortably for the first 10 minutes of class.

11. Every day is a Brynn’s day.

12. Nothing beats driving around campus with the top down!

13. Until you remember that you have 2 tests and 3 papers due before finals week. Wake Forest is still Work Forest…no matter how nice the weather.

Enjoy the sunshine, Deacs!
