Truth be told, I never allowed myself to get involved in the craziness surrounding the Victoria’s Secret Pink Collegiate Showdown. It just involved too much effort, and frankly, I can be pretty lazy when it comes to these types of things. Leave it to the lovely and extremely dedicate Hokies (both females AND males) to put in hours of time and effort in order to take home a win for Virginia Tech!

This afternoon, Tech competed with the University of Texas in the final round of the showdown.  I checked in when about an hour and a half was left in the competition, with Tech winning by around 3,000 points. I saw this as relief; but my friend was worried. UT is a huge school, who knew whether or not they could make a quick comeback.

We all know how the story ends. After four weeks of Victoria’s Secret page sharing on Facebook and Tweets urging students to rock the vote, Virginia Tech came out on top. What do we get as a reward for our hard work? A PINK party. Included in this party is a free concert, the Victoria’s Secret Angels, and tons of Victoria’s Secret swag. The Facebook page for the event encourages students to text TECH to 877465 to stay up to date on the latest news for the upcoming fall party. As I scroll through the photos and the video from last year’s PINK party at the University of Illinois, I can’t wait to attend the party next fall!
