Fall is the time for leaves changing color, cookouts, roasting marshmallows and carving pumpkins. Every fall the makeup world walks away from its neon colors and bright lips and transitions into dark nudes and vampy shades of purple. I happen to take the dark lip trend very seriously so here are my top five fall lip colors.

1. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Weirdo

The ultimate dark lip. This black lipstick is opaque, long lasting and vampy af. It looks good on anyone and honestly it’s good for any occasion. It’s definitely a statement lipstick but it looks good even if you’re having a simple makeup day.

2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome

A great “my lips but better” color that is perfect for those days where you may want a little color but don’t want to commit to something like a matte liquid lip. It’s light enough that you’ll probably forget you’re wearing it.

3. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Family Jewels

This is the perfect fall nude. It’s a warm, rose-toned brown that would look good on any skin tone. Probably one of my favorite nudes and I always get compliments when I wear it. It really does look good on every skin tone and it lasts all day as well.

4. Maybelline Colorsensational in Grey Over It

It was a hard choice between this and Grunge from ColourPop but this one slowly edged forward to become one of my favorites. It’s a warm toned grey that is dark enough not to wash you out but light enough that it won’t take you back to those scary days of middle school grunge and goth.

5. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood

The best red lip I have ever worn. It’s dark and sultry, and it’s completely matte. It is a more neutral red, so it’s not too warm or too cool, making it perfect for a night out on the town.

Give one or all of these lip colors a try this fall. Embrace your vampy look.
