September is the start of fall and all basic fall things. PSLs, knitted scarves, comfy sweaters and the accepted use of dark maroon lipstick. It is also the time to update your beauty routine. You don’t dress the same way as you do in the summer, so why should you use the same products too?

Skin Care

Let’s be real, as soon as September hits and it starts cooling down, your skin gets drier. The fall is a crucial time to introduce more moisture into your beauty routine.

Dead Sea Mud Mask

This is Amazon’s best seller and I can personally attest to it. It banishes dry skin in just 15 minutes. It also brightens your skin and gives you that glow without the use of highlighter.

Farsali Rose Gold Elixir

You’ve probably seen this all over your Instagram feed. You may think “oh it’s a scam like those teas that the Kardashians drink.” But it’s not, I promise. I spent $25 on the smallest bottle and it is honestly one of the best skin care purchases I’ve made. Add a few drops on your brush when you use foundation or just apply it to your bare skin. It adds moisture instantly.

Body

As you know, the sun is not as bright in the fall, thus you lose the tan you spent weeks getting. If you don’t want to return back to your paler self, use fake tanner.

Suave Self-Tanning Body Lotion

This is extremely affordable and subtle enough that you won’t look like Snookie, circa 2010. Be careful though, don’t wear white when you use this and put it on after you put your clothes on.

Hair Care

The fall doesn’t just bring dry skin; it brings dry hair too.

Shea Moisture Tahitian Noni and Monoi Masque

This is a brand that us naturals have swore by for years. It is not just for natural hair however; it works for most hair types that suffer from dryness. Leave it on for 5-20 minutes, depending how dry your hair is, and then rinse. It will add luster and shine like no other product. Plus, it smells DELISH.

Face

Your skin tone changes as your summer tan fades. It may be time to get a new shade of foundation.

Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation

This foundation is the cure all. Dark circles? Use this foundation. Acne scars? Use this foundation. Too lazy to use concealer and foundation? Then just use this foundation. It comes in dozens of different shades so it shouldn’t be hard to find one that matches your slightly lighter tone. It’s perfect for those on the go that want full coverage with the least amount of work.

Lips

Light colors are on their way out, step up your lipstick game.

Colourpop Metallic Liquid Lipsticks

One of the newest fall trends is the metallic lip. But if you’re like me, there’s no way you want to spend $20 on on tube of lipstick that may not be in style in a couple months. Colourpop is one of the best affordable lipstick brands. Their new metallic lippies are $6 and they have a variety of colors. They’re not so bold that they look obnoxious, you could totally get away with wearing them to class.

Go forth and enjoy all things fall!
