Between quarantining and many retailers struggling to keep up with online orders, your original Mother’s Day plans may need to be adjusted. Here are some last minute Mother’s Day gifts you can make while social distancing:

Bake Some Cookies

…or whatever your mom’s favorite dessert is! A sweet treat is the perfect thing to distract from the uneasiness and stress of today. Plus, a batch of freshly made deserts should only take an hour or two out of your day. These are some of my go-to easy baked good recipes:

DIY Projects

Tap into your creative side and find some do-it-yourself projects your mom could put to use. DIY gifts are also a perfect way to personalize a gift to your mom’s taste. Are tulips her favorite flower? Paint tulips on a canvas! Has she been eyeing an expensive candle holder from her favorite boutique? Make one using supplies you already have! Here are some ideas to get your brainstorming started:

Pour Painting by Sweet Red Poppy

Dreamcatcher by Live Well & Travel Often

Cook a Nice Dinner

They don’t say “food is the key to our hearts” for no reason. A nice, home-cooked meal is the perfect way to cap off your Mother’s Day festivities. Just because a meal is simple or easy doesn’t mean it can’t be just as good as one from a restaurant. These are some of my favorite simple meals:

Spicy Shrimp and Spaghetti Aglio Olio with a Tomato and Onion Salad by Food Network

Sheet Pan Garlic Herb Butter Chicken & Potatoes by Cafe Delites

Pasta Primavera by Two Peas & Their Pod

Hopefully these ideas will help to create a memorable Mother’s Day, despite being stuck at home!
