Go-to Makeup Looks for the Holidays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Virginia Tech chapter.

The holidays are the best opportunity for us to get dressed up, do our makeup and look camera ready. Figuring out what outfits to wear for events like Christmas or New Years’ parties, can be stressful in itself. Trying to decide whether a dress is too much or not enough for the occasion can always be exhausting and overwhelming. Although, when it comes to makeup things can be easier. You can do a simple red lip, show off a bold winged liner, or go crazy with some glitter. Either way you’ll look amazing and definitely turn heads when you walk into a room. Here are some perfect go-to looks that you can never go wrong with.

Red lip:

The classic red lip is subtle, yet bold and can easily be worn by anyone. If you’re in a rush and need a quick look, pair a red lip with some flirty fake lashes and be on your way!

*Before applying any lipstick, exfoliating your lips with a lip scrub makes the lipstick application smoother and the lips look fuller. If you don’t have a lip scrub already, just mix a tablespoon of honey and sugar into a small bowl and you have your own DIY lip scrub.*
