Women-Friendly Travel Destinations to Look Forward to Post-Covid

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

As we approach one year of the world turning upside down due to a historical pandemic that has reshaped the entire way we look at the world and the way we are living in it, it is important to look ahead to our society’s and our own bright futures. A future that is full of vacations, spring breaks, unique cultures and new foods. It is also extremely important to do research on any country and culture you plan on visiting, whether you are interested in going alone or with a group of your closest friends and family, to always stay safe! Here is a list of some of the world’s most female-friendly travel destinations that you can look forward to visiting once COVID-19 is officially a part of our species’ history!

Sweden

Coming in first, we have the Scandinavian country of Sweden. At number 3 in quality of life compared to other countries around the world, Sweden is one of the safest places in the world to be. With one of the most generous populations and rapidly diversifying demographics, this is one destination that should be on all of our bucket lists, but for now, we can take COVID-19 friendly trips to IKEA while we wait!

Japan

Looking to the other side of the world, we have the unique country of Japan. Japan is known for its delicious food, beautiful views and rich culture, making traveling to the country a mainly conservative choice safe for you and your closest friends to visit in the coming years (or months, hopefully). Not only is the historic country a leader for solo female travel, but it is also one of the world’s most literate and technically advanced nations. Tokyo has been at the top of my travel list for years, and I cannot wait to finally go!

Canada

As many of us know, Canadians are known for their kindness and welcoming nature, making it a great choice for a quick vacation north of the border. With recent national policies of multiculturalism put in place as well as being ranked number 1 in quality of life according to US News and World Report, Canada was an easy pick for this list.

Denmark

Coming in at number one on US News and World Report’s list of best countries for women in both 2019 and 2020, living and visiting Denmark is definitely at the top of my list as well! As one of the most forward-thinking and dynamic countries in the world, Denmark has a list of vacation destinations perfect for a girls’ trip in the coming years.
