Valentine’s Day has once again crept up on us and one question remains: What do we want? More specifically, what do girls want this Valentine’s Day? Flowers and chocolates have become a V-Day staple, but we could not help but wonder in what other directions this Saturday could go. Inspired by the great Sigmund Freud’s most confounding conundrum, we took to social media to ask girls what they would appreciate this Saturday.

We received a variety of responses ranging between crying over Beyoncé together to Chinese takeout to quality time with a loved one. We’ve listed some of our favorites below:
Pizza, Chinese takeout and sweats
Girls just really love food…a lot. The saying “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach” should definitely be changed to include us girls. Here is to hoping our Valentines come through with a box of Christian’s or Panda Express (now that it’s finally open). Maybe they can throw in a cute pair of sweats so we can comfortably pig out together.
Cuddles…lots of cuddles.
It’s cold outside, so use cuddling as an excuse to steal all the warmth you can get.
Crying over Beyoncé together
Does this one really need an explanation? If your date does not recognize the holiness that is Beyoncé Knowles and it doesn’t bring him/her to tears…then maybe you should reconsider your choice in Valentine.
Drinks and time together
Assuming you’re both of age, time spent over a couple of drinks is time well spent. We’re all really busy and stressed throughout the week so why not unwind with someone you care about and just talk because you can.
Pets!
Now, we know this may be a longshot, but who doesn’t want a puppy? Or maybe a kitten if you’re a cat person. Furry cuddles for life.
Lingerie
It’s always a good day when you’re wearing pretty underwear. You know it, I know it, let’s be real.
It should be noted that while we we’re exploring a realm beyond flowers and chocolates, girls still brought this up when asked what they would like this Saturday. They are very much appreciated and really do brighten your day.
However, we did notice one trend throughout our responses: quality time and an experience together. A thought-out date or a trip together were some of our personal favorites. Time is precious and it is evident that we could all use a little more time with the ones we care about. A day together at home or out and about is really all a woman wants. Show your girl that you pay attention to the little things and that their presence is truly cherished.
To answer your question Mr. Freud, all a girl wants are some pizza and cuddles.
