A friendly group of students who care about rights for girls and education gathered on Friday 26th at 7pm to see the screening of Girl Rising at VCU, and to discuss their feelings about the documentary. The documentary featured stories from a few girls from all over the world. The girls teamed up with a writer from their country to tell the story of their life and struggles to get education. They were all so very inspirational. In the discussion after the film the group talked about what story they found most inspirational and who they could relate to the most. Everyone left the theater with a new perspective about the privileges that we have in America and an appreciation for the education that we are getting here at VCU.
