With warm weather fast approaching, it seems like every singer under the sun is announcing a spring or summer tour. While it’s all exciting news, navigating which artists are performing at which venue can get overwhelming. To save you from missing out on a great time this Summer, I’ve compiled a list of ten must-see festivals and concerts to add to your spring schedule. Ranging from surf-rock to Beyonce’s epic discography, there are a myriad of shows coming to the DMV area in the coming months.

sun room

Sun Room, a laid-back garage rock band from San Diego, California, is bringing the “Summer Heat” to The Broadberry, on Sunday, Apr. 23. While they’ve gained traction through opening slots on tours with Louis Tomlinson and Inhaler, their stop in Richmond marks the first show of their headlining tour. Sun Room’s sound is reminiscent of The Beach Boys, but they mix in a modern rock and roll flavor. Check out their three EPs on Spotify for a taste of their West Coast vibes.

Something in the water

Pharrell Williams’ festival, Something in the Water, is coming back for a third year this April. Experience hits from Kid Cudi and Kehlani to Wet Leg and Mumford & Sons during the festival’s three-day run in Virginia Beach, Virginia. While passes for the event are still available, they’re selling fast, so act quickly so you don’t miss the amazing lineup!

Paramore is bringing their insane discography to D.C.’s Captial One Arena this June! While they’re currently opening for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour, they’re kicking off a headlining world tour in Dublin, Ireland, on Apr. 13. During their stop at Capital One Arena, Bloc Party and Genesis Owusu will be opening for them.

big time rush

You’ll be able to get a double dose of Big Time Rush bangers this Summer! The boy-turned-man band will be stopping in Virginia Beach and Columbia this July during their “Can’t Get Enough Tour.” Tickets for both tour dates will be available on Jun. 23.

declan mckenna

Similar to Big Time Rush, you’ll have the chance to see Declan McKenna twice this Summer. I’m sure you’ve all heard the Brit’s hit “Brazil,” whether on Spotify or playing over an edit of Conrad Fisher on TikTok. You can catch “Brazil,” and a bunch of other amazing Declan McKenna songs live Jun. 5 at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., or Jun. 6 at The National in RVA.

drake & 21 savage

Drake is bringing his Canadian kindness and 21 Savage to Capital One Arena during his “Drake: It’s All A Blur Tour” this Summer. The rapper’s stop in Washington, D.C., comes after having to add 12 more tour dates due to high demand. As a result, you can see Drake and 21 Savage on July 28 and 29.

kali uchis

Kali Uchis is bringing her talent to the East Coast this Spring at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. RAYE will be joining the singer on her tour throughout the next few months. While Uchis’ show is sold out on Ticketmaster, you can find resale tickets through StubHub.

sabrina carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter’s highly anticipated “emails i can’t send Tour” will be coming to The Anthem on May 14. She’ll be accompanied by Blu DeTiger, and with their combined talent, you’re in for a treat. Her stop in Washington, D.C. is a blip on her massive world tour scheduled for the Spring and Summer.

vcu ramfest

At the end of next month, Young Nudy, Pi’erre Bourne, Prime N9N23, and Smoove Donn will be playing Brown’s Island for VCU RAMFEST. A special set from DJ Markus Gold will be played at the event as well. Even though tickets are still on sale, they’re going fast, so make sure to snap them up quickly!

As I’m sure you all know, Beyonce will be embarking on her highly anticipated “Renaissance World Tour” this Summer. While getting tickets for her tour seemed to be like rocket science, resale tickets are available on StubHub for those interested in attending her two shows at FedEx Field in Maryland this August.
