Summer is almost here, and although it’s basically everyone’s favorite time of year, it’s not always your makeup’s.  Getting your makeup perfect for the summer can be hard. You need products that are light and dewy, but are also going to last all day in the hot and humid sunny days. Here are my favorite products for the summer and why:

1. Too Faced Hangover Primer

The Too Faced Hangover primer is a great primer that leaves the skin feeling super hydrated and very soft (and, it smells like coconuts!). The primer has coconut water infused in it to leave the face with a fresh, coconut-y smell.  I love this primer because it gives my face a smooth surface to apply the rest of my makeup on and keeps my makeup in place all day.

2. Fresh Glow Burberry BB Cream

BB cream is essential for summer. Looking flawless with a full-coverage foundation can be nice, but letting your skin breath in the hot summer weather feels better. My current favorite bb cream right now is the Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream. This BB cream looks flawless on my skin and gives me a very sheer amount of coverage so that my skin looks like skin.

3. Nars Pressed Powder

Although I usually don’t like wearing any powder, a pressed or loose powder is an essential for any summer makeup look to stay all day. My favorite powder that I have been using for over four years is the Nars Pressed Powder. This powder is supernatural and gives a subtle matte look. Another favorite powder of mine is the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder.

4. YSL Cream Bronzer

To make that sun-kissed golden glow that every summer makeup tutorials promises to show you how to get, I like to use a cream bronzer. Not many makeup brands have cream bronzers, but the two that I have used are the YSL Cream Bronzer and the Channel Cream Bronzer. Both give a natural, bronzed look but my current favorite is the YSL cream bronzer pictured above.

5. Burberry Cream Blush

Another cream product that is essential for summer is blush. Along with your sun-kissed bronze you’re going to want a sun-kissed flush. The best and most natural way to achieve that is with cream blush. Cream products melt into the skin and give a much more natural, skin-like look than powder. My favorite cream blush is Burberry’s Lip and Cheek Bloom. The product gives a slight flush to the skin that looks very natural and understated while still being present.

6. Makeup Forever Cream Blush

Lately, my eyes have been getting super watery and my eye makeup has been rubbing off, that is, until I started using the Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes black eyeliner. This stuff sticks around all day and doesn’t budge. Any waterproof eyeliner is a good investment for the summer.

7. Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara

Along with waterproof eyeliner, waterproof mascara is a must. The Too Faced Better Than Sex Water Proof Mascara is a life-changing product. This stuff doesn’t budge and adds even more volume than the regular Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. Also, you’re probably going to be going to the pool or beach this summer, so why not look good in the water?

8. Mac Waterproof brow gel

Lastly, everyone wants their brows to been on point this summer, so waterproof brow gel is the answer. Mac Pro Longwear brow gel comes in a range of different shades and keeps your brows in place day in and day out.
