The anticipation of summer leaves you with all these ideas of the fun things you’re going to do. But then summer starts and you realize you’re bored out of your mind! Use our bucketlist for fun things to do this summer and add your own ideas, too!

Take A Roadtrip

Grab your closest friends, hop in the car, and go somewhere! It can be the town next door or even another state. Every place has something special and unique whether it’s restaurants, venues, tourist attractions, shops, or even nature exhibits. Spend a day (or two, or three) exploring a new place.

Start and Maintain a Regular Exercise Routine

Summer is the perfect time to start going to the gym regularly because you won’t feel guilty about wasting precious studying time. Get in shape this summer!

Use Sidewalk Chalk in a Public Place

Grab a box of colorful chalk and get to work. A well-lit area at nighttime is the perfect place because you can see what you’re doing and there won’t be a lot of people in your way. Be creative!

Outdoor Festivals and Concerts

Summer nights are great for enjoying good music outside. Most cities offer outdoor venues on the weekends where local bands will play and a lot of cities (or sometimes lesser known towns) host music festivals that cater to all tastes.

Go Camping

And I mean REAL camping. There are campgrounds everywhere or you could find a spot in your own backyard. It’s even more fun if you’re around a lake or river. Pitch a tent, build a fire pit, and have a good ol’ time.

Outdoor Adventure Sports

Go hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, jumping, caving
there’s something for everyone and you can do it at different levels of difficulty, too – from beginners to experts.

Teach Yourself to Cook

If you already consider yourself a master chef, learn to cook a fancier dish. Then, invite all of your friends over and serve them some fine dining.

Sporting Events

Almost every town has a minor league baseball team, and sometimes even a soccer team. And it’s more than just a game. Most stadiums offer promotions, games, contests, fireworks after the game, and also serve food and have gift shops. Try to get some player autographs after the games. You never know who might make it big!

Get Fancy

Dress up with your friends and go out to dinner. Even if you have nowhere else to go after, it’s always fun to dress nice and go out.

Watch a Movie in an IMAX Dome

These theatres offer a new viewing experience. The screen extends past your peripheral vision so that it almost feels like you’re inside the movie. This is not for those prone to motion sickness or with weak stomachs!

Play in the Rain

One day when you’re moping about a rainy day, put on a bathing suit and go play in it instead! Or, put on old clothes and make a slip ‘n’ slide. Wear your rainboots and take out your cutest umbrella and have someone take pictures of you splashing around in puddles. New profile pic!

Amusement Parks

These can be expensive but there are discounts everywhere. And what’s better than the thrill of a roller coaster ride?
