Music lovers, rejoice!

Spotify recently released a collection of playlists catered to the 12 different zodiac signs, so you can enjoy reading your morning horoscope to the tunes of music catered just for you (and the thousands of other Geminis listening).

For starters, astrology is the study of how distant cosmic objects (stars, planets, the moon) affect human lives. Historically, the position of these objects based on when you were born has been used to make predictions about your life, future, and more- with the help of your zodiac sign.

Spotify recently decided to join forces with an astrologer to help curate playlists that compliment your horoscopes and released 12 brand new, specially crafted playlists for each of the zodiac signs.

A variety of music is incorporated into each of the playlists, everything from hip-hop to pop, so music-listeners of all backgrounds will enjoy their own respective playlists!

In a statement released on their website, Spotify explained this new musical phenomenon,

“What’s your sign? Whether you love or hate the question, the cultural obsession has made its mark. But astrology is no longer simply synonymous with bold predictions about love, fame and fortune. Instead, it’s attracting more and more people who use horoscope readings as a way to reflect and find direction in their lives. Music can provide that same effect, and that’s why we’re working with astrologer Chani Nicholas to create our new Cosmic Playlists.”

So how are these playlists catered to you specifically, in a category as general as your zodiac sign?

Chani Nicholas, the astrologer behind the playlist, has an answer to this question,

“When a song resonates with you, it might feel really personal, like it’s speaking about your own experience. But it’s also speaking to a huge, broad audience. When there’s something collectively going on where a song resonates for a lot of people, it’s the same way that a horoscope will speak to the archetypal themes of the moment.”
