Why did you choose VCU?

Having grown up in Richmond I’ve always admired downtown and VCU. I’ve always been the creative one in my family and I knew I didn’t want to go to an ordinary school. I wanted to be surrounded by diversity and I find the city atmosphere inspiring.

What is your favorite thing about VCU?

My favorite thing about VCU is how friendly everyone is. I genuinely feel like everyone on campus has each other’s backs. It’s a big ram family.

What activities are you involved with around campus?

I’m a writer for Her Campus at VCU, the treasurer for the Society of Professional Journalists at VCU and I’m a college ambassador for Beyond Her Blush.

Why did you decide to join Her Campus at VCU?

I transferred from a local community college to VCU and I wanted to find a way to transition and make friends. I love writing and I love what Her Campus stands for.

What has been your favorite thing about Her Campus at VCU?

My favorite thing about Her Campus at VCU is the members. I love the support system we have for each other. Her Campus at VCU has made my college experience.

What is your favorite article you’ve written?

My favorite article I’ve written so far is ‘I’m Grateful, Not Spoiled.’ It’s about how I’m grateful that my parents are providing me with a quality college education and I never take it for granted. It got nationally shared by Her Campus nationals and it was a pick of the week by one of the Her Campus national’s editors.

If you could give one piece of advice to students considering VCU what would it be?

If you love a diverse and creative atmosphere, then VCU is for you. Besides a quality education, there’s a ton to do here and great job/internship opportunities.

What is your dream job?

My absolute dream job would to be a reporter or writer for a newspaper or magazine or an online version of the two. I love writing about things people can relate to and I love writing about things that affect the community.

Where do you want to live after graduation?

Ideally, I would love to stay in Richmond because it’s my home and my family is here (also that way I could get a dog literally the day after graduation). But I’m going to apply to jobs all over Virginia and D.C. and hope for the best. I’m graduating next December so I have some time.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about you?

I wish people knew that I have a big heart and I love making new friends, but I refuse for my kindness to be taken advantage of. I used to be really sensitive, but experiences in my life have made me grow a thicker skin.

In the movie of your life, what actor/actress plays you and why?

In the movie of my life, Kat Dennings would play me. People have told me multiple times that I look like her. Also we share the same birthday which is so weird but awesome!
