Here’s Why I’m Obsessed With Love Island

The drama throughout the entire series is the first thing that fueled my obsession. There’s something so entertaining about sitting there and watching a bunch of European people screaming at each other. The most dramatic part of each series is the recouplings, where someone could get dumped from the island. It takes about 30 minutes to get through the whole thing and it leaves me in shock every time.

Everything about the show is entertaining for me. Even when they’re just sitting around talking, it’s a little escape from reality. I get to sit down and forget about what’s going on in my life to focus on this drama-filled show that makes me forget about all my problems.

The part I love about it most is how relatable some of the people on the show can actually be. Mostly when the girls talk about how awful the boys are or stand up to one of them when they’re treating someone poorly. I absolutely love when a girl’s feminine rage comes out. It’s also just as relatable when the girl takes back the boy that treated them poorly, because we’ve all been in that position before.

After watching almost every season and all the 60 plus episodes that come with it, I have developed an emotional investment in the people I love in each season. As soon as I’m done watching a season, I search up all their names and see who broke up, who’s gone on a podcast about it and who really is who they are on the show.

Every reality show is always going to be somewhat fake or fabricated to be entertaining. I’ve never been a huge fan of any other reality shows but something about Love Island is so drawing. It’s a combination of the way they speak, the drama that surrounds them constantly and how attached I get to individuals during the seasons.
