There seems to be a day, a week, or a month dedicated to every possible thing. It ranges from fun things like National Kissing Day to more professional things like Teacher Appreciation Week to more serious things like Black History Month. Did you know there is even Women’s History Month? This is exactly what it sounds like – a month dedicated to women’s history! This is an important time as we can reflect back on how far women have come in society. Many of us take our rights for granted and have forgotten how hard some women (and men) worked to get us where we are today and how hard some are still working to help us move forward. In honor of Women’s History Month,  Her Campus VCU will feature a well-known woman who has made a difference in history every day on our Twitter account with hashtag #WomanOftheDay.
“I wanted Her Campus VCU to do something for Women’s History Month because it means a lot to me to recognize the contributions women have made in history and society to my organization, students at VCU, and to those we reach out to. From celebrities to politicians, we plan to highlight all types of women because they’re all noteworthy in their own way. In a general sense, I hope people read our Tweets and take a second to recognize how influential women have been in history and society. I encourage people to spread the message by re-tweeting us or featuring their own posts about Women’s History Month!” said Chelsea Sumi Kubo, President of Her Campus VCU.
Join Her Campus VCU in remembering and recognizing influential women from the past and from the present.
