Why did you choose to join a sorority?
To grow as an individual. I’ve always been very quiet (no one will believe that) and always kept to myself, and when I got to college I wanted to branch myself out, and really try to step out of my comfort zone. AOII really helped me with that; I found some of my best friends and greatest support system.
What is something that is unique about your sorority?
Anyone can find a home in AOII. Everyone in is has a range of strengths and weaknesses, and with that we help each other grow and develop as a sisterhood and as a family.
What is one of your favorite events you sorority does?
Pie an AOII!
Describe a time where your sisters were really there for you.
Finding myself was and still is a challenge for me. I know that I have potential in every aspect of my social and academic career, but really pushing myself to be confident in my strengths is my struggle. My sisters tell me everyday that I can do it and to keep pushing myself, that no matter what, they will be right beside me every step of the way. That’s sisterhood, and that’s what family is for.
How do you respond to people who have a negative view on greek life?
I don’t. Honestly, it’s a waste of my time. I’m not going to waste my breath on trying to convince people to feel one way when they refuse to be open minded and accept the fact that greek life here is a lot different and unique from other schools. Our dynamic is different, and we all don’t follow the stereotype. All I can say is, greek life is awesome, and notice how much we contribute to the community and on campus!
How has your sorority changed your college experience?
In every aspect. Not only do I have so many supportive and beautiful sisters, but the memories I have shared with them are priceless.
What are some things you like to do in your free time?
Spend time with my boyfriend, grab lunch/dinner with sisters, and cook…Korean food.
What is your favorite spot in Richmond?
Proper Pie and Mojos (Monday wings…)
What is your dream job?
Either owning my own company or becoming an International Corporate Lawyer
