As collegiettes, we all have “those” days – those days when we hit the snooze button one too many times and suddenly there isn’t enough time to wash our hair or even style it. Well we’re here to tell you that you don’t have to settle for a less-than-flattering hair style on these drab days!

Hair + Pillow = Greasy Roots

Sometimes you sweat in your sleep and this is also prime-time for your scalp to produce oils. But there are many fixes for this situation. The quickest ones are a hat, a thick headband, or even a bandana. These will cover up most or all of your roots which are the most prone to being oily anyway.

The next option is using dry shampoo. This last-minute miracle-worker has particles that soak up the oils in your hair and make it look good as clean!

A simple French braid can also mask your oily roots. Because all of the hair is intertwined instead of just the ends, your roots aren’t as visible.

Hair + Pillow = Flat, Limp Locks

Sleeping on your hair can matte it down and seem like a lost cause. Since your hair is probably already smooth at this point, a simple ponytail, low, high, or even on the side, can be a great fix. You can braid a small strand of hair to add texture.

Another option is to tease your hair. I’m not talking 80’s craze – you don’t have to go all out unless you’re feeling daring. But taking a fine-toothed comb and a bottle of hairspray to the undersides of your hair can work wonders.

Hair + Pillow = Unmanageable, Untamable Fly-Aways

Let’s face it – no one wakes up with perfect hair. If it’s not matted down then it’s most likely similar to that of a lion’s mane. There are remedies for this too!

The best way to condense your hair is to braid it. Side braids are fun and easy and hide those wispy strands. Leaving volume in your roots adds to the look and frames your face.

A messy bun also hides the fly-aways and you can still have the volume around your face depending on how loose or tight you make the bun. Tuck in the loose pieces with bobby pins.
