At one point in a girl’s life they dream of going to an event like New York Fashion Week and because the bosses of Her Campus wanted to make our dreams come true, they brought the runway to college students. That one night is College Fashion Week. “Attending New York Fashion Week is every girl’s dream,” Windsor Hanger Western, Co-Founder of Her Campus Media, said. “But it is so exclusive, whereas College Fashion Week is for girls everywhere.”

For the past three years Her Campus has been putting on College Fashion Week for fashionistas in different cities across the country to promote fashion for collegiettes of every budget, shape and size. “The outfits tonight are worn by real girls,” said Western said. “Real sizes, real heights, real beauty.”

This year they decided to bring the show to The W Hotel in Washington D.C. to allow collegiettes in the DMV area, as well as from across the country, a chance to attend.

Simon Mall (@shopsimon) made sure that there was a variety of styles represented on the runway at all four venues this year. From the florals, whites and black prints that graced our feminine minimalism line, to the 70s fringe and flare lines brought to us by Forever 21, CFW challenged New York Fashion Week, and provided to be a more enjoyable event! Other looks showcased were modern punk bringing the 90s back into style and menswear influences perfect for work and play!

Sponsors such as @jamberry, @monthlygift, and @europeanwax had tables set out throughout the venue to show off their products. From nail demos by Jamberry, to a styling bar where you could get your eyebrows done by European Wax Center, CFW had it all. There was even a photo booth and interview session with Monthly Gift as well as a lipstick bar from @milanicosmetics! College Fashion Week treated us like queens. They not only spruced up our looks but also our portfolios by having a place where you could get professional headshots taken.

As if attending one of the realest fashion shows out there wasn’t enough, we all had the honor of leaving with freebies that included merchandise from companies such as @theskinnypop, @glamsquad, @littlewordsproject, plus more from companies like @stylewatchmag, @frankbody and @scentbird. By the end of the night all we wanted to do was try them out. Her Campus knew the way to a girl’s heart!
