7 Essentials for the Winter Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

The winter season is here, whether you like it or not, be prepared and grab these essentials to face the cold and windy days ahead. Here are a few:

1. Fuzzy Socks

Never let your feet get cold! Fuzzy socks are not only seriously comfortable and cute, but they keep your feet warm throughout the day.

2. A heated blanket

Heated blankets are the Beyoncé of blankets. Once you get one, you will always wonder why you didn’t have it sooner. Sadly, they aren’t allowed in dorms, but if you live in an apartment, go ahead and treat yo’ self.

3. Comfy sweaters

Comfy and chunky sweaters are a staple piece of the winter season. They keep you warm and cozy and you can pair them perfectly with leggings and boots.

4. Boot socks or leg warmers

Add a little flair to your favorite pair of tall riding boots with a pair of comfy and cute boot socks or leg warmers. You can even find short ones for your combat boots!

5. Moisturizing hand and face lotions

Winter is the season of dry skin. Make sure to invest in some quality lotion for your hands and face as they get the most exposure to the cold weather.

6. Hydrating lip balm

Chapped lips are unavoidable during the frigid weather. Give your lips some love by putting lip balm on before class, and keeping some in your purse.

7. Snow or rain boots

The winter weather is unpredictable at times with snow or rain, be prepared and get some cute snow and or rain boots with plenty of traction so you can walk to your class that should have been canceled.

These essentials will help you slay the winter time, while keeping you warm, snug and safe throughout. Don’t deprive yourself of these winter necessities!
