15 Things to be Thankful for in College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

Any college student can tell you that there are many ups and downs in college. Here are some things you can be thankful for as a college student:

1. Wi-Fi.

When you run out of data or need to finish an assignment in the hall on the way to class, Wi-Fi is the real MVP.

2. Grade Curves.

Just when you were ready to settle for a B on that test, your professor proves they’re the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all Time) and takes you up to an A.  Grade curving is probably the greatest gift a professor can give to their students.

3. Friends with Printers/Free Printing.

“I love running around searching for enough change to print my assignments!” – said no one ever.

4. Unexpected Class Cancellations.

There’s nothing better than waking up, checking your email, and finding out your class is cancelled for the day.

5. Student Discounts.

Whether its food or clothing, we love any opportunity to save money.

6. The Snooze Button.

What could possibly be wrong with and extra five minutes of sleep?

7. Starbucks.

Sometimes we just need a caffeine boost to get through the day.

8. Freedom.

What curfew? We’re adults now! Kind of..

9. Free stuff.

We’re broke. If it’s free, we’ll take it.  You can never have too many pens.

10. Meal Plans.

After we’ve spent our last five dollars on that Venti Latte we’re thankful we have our meal plans to fall back on.

11. Upperclassman Housing.

The much needed upgrade from our freshman housing.

12. Naps.

Naps in between classes or before all-nighters are what fuel us as students.

13. Spring, Winter, and Summer Break.

Breaks from school are probably the one guaranteed thing we look forward to each year.  It’s the perfect time to indulge in that necessary ‘me-time’ after working so hard throughout the year.

14. Awesome Roommates.

Not everyone has such luck, so when you find roommates you don’t clash with, treasure them.

15. Your Education.

At the end of the day we’re in college to learn and transition into the adults we want to become.  What could be more rewarding than that?
