10 Movies to Watch this Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at VCU chapter.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and whether you’re spending the day with your bae, friends or simply alone, here are a few movies you and whoever else should watch this Valentine’s Day:

1. “Legally Blonde”

If you’ve ever read one of my articles before, you know I’m a “Legally Blonde” lover. Watching “Legally Blonde” any time of year is always a good time. Just try not to end up like Elle in this gif.

2. “John Tucker Must Die”

If you need a plan on how to destroy a man, this movie’s got you covered.

3. “Footloose” (2013)

“Footloose” is the classic tale of a city boy and a country girl falling in love while trying to revoke their town’s ban of dancing. If you want a good cliché love story with some overall decent dancing thrown in, this is your movie!

4. “The Edge of 17”

If you’re going through a rough patch right now, don’t worry because you’re not alone. “The Edge of 17” is a great story of a teenage girl figuring out everything from friendships to relationships and everything in between.

5. “50 Shades of Gray”

No explanation needed for this one.

6. “Sex and the City”

“Sex and the City” is a classic girls’ night movie, so bring the popcorn and loads of junk food, because you’re in for a treat.

7. “Sleepover”

For those of us that want to remember our high school crushes and the pain that came along with trying to get them to notice you, a great nostalgic movie to watch this Valentine’s Day is “Sleepover.”

8. “Charlie St. Cloud”

If you feel like you’re going to cry this Valentine’s Day, regardless of what you do, you may as well watch a movie worth crying for. “Charlie St. Cloud” is a great movie about love and lost and will surely make you shed a tear.

9. “She’s the Man”

If you’re looking for a good laugh this Valentine’s Day, “She’s the Man” is your movie.

10. The Devil Wears Prada

“The Devil Wears Prada,” a classic girls’ night (or alone night) movie. Something to remind you that your life could be worse.
