If you’re at all like me, the fall season of TV show premieres feels an awful lot like Christmas. This year, it has seemed especially magical, with Nashville and The Mindy Project premiering and Gossip Girl, 90210, Hart of Dixie, and America’s Next Top Model returning. Yeah, yeah, go ahead and judge me for watching all of the cliched teenager shows. But in my personal opinion, shows like these offer a brief reprieve from my busy, hectic life, and after working hard every day, I feel like I deserve a break.
The show that has most impressed me this fall season is The Mindy Project. As a long time devotee to The Office and a huge fan of her latest book, I was really excited to see what Mindy Kaling could bring to her own show. I’m happy to say that I’m not at all disappointed. It’s the perfect show for young women of any age, just because Mindy is so relatable. It’s funny, interesting, even a little bit inspiring. Mindy has a confidence in the show that makes you, as a viewer, want to hold your head a little bit higher and really rock what you’ve got. Plus, Mindy dresses INCREDIBLY well- I want her wardrobe ASAP, especially the turquoise dress from the first episode!
If you’re looking for a funny new show to watch this fall, check out The Mindy Project. I know that as young college women, y’all will absolutely relate to Mindy and her hilarious antics. It’s really like a romantic comedy on television, but better, and I just can’t wait to see how all of the characters and relationships develop throughout the season!
The Mindy Project is on Tuesdays at 9:30/8:30c on Fox. It’s also on Hulu, so be sure to watch the first three episodes before tuning in!
