Honestly, it’s no secret that Netflix doesn’t have that great of a selection of movies. I can’t count the number of times that I’ve thought of a movie that I wanted to watch, only to find that it isn’t on Netflix. Or maybe I want to rewatch something, but they’ve taken it off. I get it. It’s some part of their business plan and probably helps with profit, but it’s inconvenient for me.

However, although there isn’t a wide selection, there are some VERY quality films on there. Some take a little digging to find, but really, there are choices to suit your every mood. Here are my personal recommendations.

The Breakfast Club – A classic that delights both cinephiles and casual movie watchers alike, this favorite of the 80s is a fun flick about the drama that is high school.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – One of the best Netflix originals out there. This movie reignited my love for romantic comedies. Who doesn’t need a Peter Kavinsky in their lives?

Thor Ragnorak – Personally, I’m a big fan of Marvel movies, and Thor Ragnorak is one of my favorite ones. It’ll keep you both on the edge of your seat and make you laugh uncontrollably. I would, however, recommend trying to see some of the other Marvel movies first.

PS I Love You – Need a good cry? PS I Love You can help you release all of your emotions from a tough week.

The Princess Diaries – Arguably one of my favorite Anne Hathaway movies. She’s the kind of princess I can relate to.

High School Musical 3 – To all my fellow seniors out there: have some wine, watch this with friends and sob about the inevitable end of college.

The Godfather – Another classic movie, this is a good choice for those who want something a little darker. Or if, for some reason, mob life is for you.

Mamma Mia – I have been singing the soundtrack for the past couple of days non-stop, so of course it was going to make it on here. You can’t get much better than Meryl Streep panicking over the return of her exes.

Coco – For a Disney movie, it’s a little darker. But Coco portrays death in such a beautiful way, while also touching on a host of Mexican traditions and customs. It’s very wholesome and will leave you appreciating the family in your life.
