I Made The Perfect Frank Ocean Playlist. You’re Welcome

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Vanderbilt chapter.

You know when you were little and you used to put seashells up to your ear and swear you could hear the distant sounds of the ocean from which it came?

Well, we ain’t little anymore so, this is what we’ve got now:

We’ve all been here.

It’s Friday (okay maybe it’s Wednesday, do you, girlfriend).  Girls night. The wine is flowin, bread is breaking, and hearts are bleeding all over the dang place. You wanna be in your feels with ya gals- but you’re also not trying to be THAT friend who starts to sob after one glass of chardonnay.

Now pause.

What’s playing in the back? Obviously you crafted the perfect playlist for this shindig, I mean heck, you even swept the apartment for these people. And how else are you gonna set the “it’s chill but like if you wanna twerk it go for it” mood without the proper acoustics?

Does the original anecdote preceding this leave you slightly yearning to bring back that sweet, sweet nostalgia? Wanna dip into some new waters (ahem, Ocean[s]?)

(here is me assuming you affirmed that long shot)

WELL do I have the perfect addition for your carefully curated catalog of musical concoctions-

My boy, Frank- Frank Ocean to be exact.

*pause for the open mouth- did she really just??*

YES SHE REALLY JUST

Okay so here is my Top Fifteen (yes, I also know this is not a thing, stay with me here people) suggestions that I promise will be vibin’ with your next casual kickback.

Honorary mention to Pink Matter for my all time favorite line, “butter knife, what a life”- thanks for always being there for me in any/all awkward pauses that consume my existence.
