Just for you, we’ve found an anonymous Vandy boy on campus and asked him some of the toughest questions about love. Read on to learn what this mystery guy truly thinks about love and dating:
1. What is the number one physical trait you look for in a girl? What is the number one personality trait?
The number one physical trait I look for in a girl is probably a tie between a cute face, and a nice overall body (this doesn’t necessarily mean skinny girls, curves are good in moderation!) Boobs aren’t as important as you think. The number one personality trait is definitely being able to carry a conversation. She doesn’t have to be super smart, as long as she’s fun and easy to be around.
2. Name one reason why you wouldn’t ask a girl on a second date
The number one reason why I wouldn’t ask a girl on a second date is if she seemed dumb, or even worse, seemed to not be so dumb, but acted ditsy on purpose.
3. What’s the best date you’ve ever been on and why? The worst?
The best date I’ve ever been on was a 10 minute car ride to a coffee shop which we decided we didn’t want to go to, turning back to my house, being pulled over on the way, finally getting home, and just watching TV and cuddling for the rest of the night. Yes, if a guy is into you, he’ll enjoy cuddling too. The worst date I’ve ever been on was when this girl thought we were out on a date and I thought we were just having lunch as friends. Guess I need to work on my communications skills.
4. A girl will always be asked on a second date if she…?
Makes the move on the first date. Even if it’s just a kiss on the cheek, or (God help me) a prolonged hug, it makes her intentions clear, and I’d be more confident in asking her out again. It’s also nice to not have the pressure of making that first move every once in a while.
5. Are girls at Vandy dateable? Why or why not?Â
For the most part, girls at Vandy are dateable. Minus the ones that think their *expletive* smells like perfume, I find most girls rather interesting, classy, genuine, and downright attractive!
6. How long would it take you to fall in love with a girl?Â
Well, I fall in and out of love about every week or so, but I feel like I’m not the typical case here. To seriously fall in love? I’ll tell you when I get there.
7. Fill in the blank: A girl scares me off as soon as she…
Starts talking about her ex. This says to me: “I’m still not over my ex, and even though I’m flirting with you, I’m not emotionally ready to be with anyone else yet.” As my roommate once told me: “drop that b****.” Well put roomie.
8. What’s your ideal Valentine’s day?
If my Valentine cooked me dinner, I’d consider myself a lucky man. I’m not looking for a stay-at-home wife, but I’d be thrilled if my date spent the time to do something like that for me, even if the steak was a little dry.
9. Who’s your celebrity crush and why?
Rachel McAdams, because she looks so damn adorable when she’s sad.
10. When would you ask a girl to “officially” be your girlfriend? Â
When I feel that I like her enough to try long distance with her if it came down to it. Or when I feel comfortable enough to fart around her. Whichever comes first.
11. A girl makes the first move and asks you on a date. Is this a turn-on or a big no-no?
Excluding the case where the girl has been after me for a while and just isn’t getting the hint, I don’t ever see myself saying no. I might not fall in love with her immediately, but if I’m interested in her at all, I’d definitely give her brownie points for taking the initiative.
12. How long do you typically wait to call a girl after the first date?Â
I don’t like playing games with girls, but I’ll typically wait a couple days before texting her and asking her to do something else. If the date went really well, I might text her right after and let her know what a great time I had. I don’t usually call girls that I don’t know very well yet.
