Social distancing and quarantining suck, but are the best way we can help stop the spread of COVID-19. If the quarantine blues have hit you and your extroverted voice is crying for help, I have a few ideas to get you through this time.
Casino Night
Gather up your fam for a night in: Vegas style!
What you need:

A deck of cards

Chips (optional, also not the edible kind)
With these two things you can play black jack, Texas hold ‘em, and many other card games. You can also download different apps that will allow you to play and connect with friends by utilizing social media platforms like Facebook.
Paint Night
Do your own version of a sip and strokes from the comfort of your own home.

Acrylic paint

Paint brushes

Unleash your inner artist and create your next piece of wall decor.

Ok this one should definitely be an every night thing, but it is still worth emphasizing because self-care is very important.

We know you miss your girl gang, so utilize Netflix’s new group watch feature!
What you need:

A smart tv or laptop that can download Google extensions. Follow the steps here.

A big blanket
-
Popcorn
Netflix Party has taken movie night to a whole new level and makes sure you can still enjoy quality time with close friends while social distancing.
Work Out
Physical fitness plays a major role in helping you stay mentally fit. I know quarantining has been able to limit our time working out with gyms closing, but there are so many other ways to get up and move. Try some of these:
-
Hike a nature trail
-
Download a fitness app, most are free right now including Peloton, TITLE Boxing Club, and Planet Fitness.
-
Join an Instagram Live workout. One of my favorite Nashville gyms does this every week day at 9 am.
Getting up and moving can help make this quarantine more bearable, so do it for both your mind and body.
Learn a New Language
We all remember the 3 phrases we committed to memory from high school Spanish, but now with all of this extra time you can work on picking up another language. Check out these free apps to help you start learning (or relearning) a new language:
-
Duolingo
-
Memrise
-
Drops: Language Learning
-
LingoDeer
Overall, social distancing and quarantining are important and won’t be going away for a while, so take a breath and find new ways to enjoy and spend the new found time you have.
