Why We Really Love Nicki Minaj

I must admit I have not always been the biggest fan of Nicki Minaj, but after doing some research I have to say she is a remarkable person. Besides her music, it is common to hear about her latest outfit or her body, but besides those things the rapper has a lot to offer. Outside of her music career Minaj is a business mogul, a feminist, and she believes in the power of a good education. The rapper is not known for the positive messages she promotes, and it is about time she gets credit for her lesser known attributes. 

1. Nicki Minaj is a proud feminist. She uses her sexuality to promote feminism in the Hip-Hop industry. Even though this fact is sometimes overlooked it is one of her best qualities. She pushes the boundaries of society’s views on sexuality by unapologetically owning her sexuality and encouraging her fans to openly express theirs as well! 

2. Also, Nicki Minaj has no time for misogyny! In a male dominated industry Nicki has made it no secret that she is a heavy hitter and that she is on top of Hip-Hop. Although she has many accomplishments under her belt she still has to deal with double standards in the workplace.

3. Nicki Minaj always encourages her younger fans to work towards their dreams AND continue to work on their education. Many rappers promote a certain type of lifestyle, but they do not encourage their listeners to stay focused on things like work or education. It is refreshing to see Nicki Minaj inspire her younger audience to be themselves, believe in their dreams, and pursue an education. 

4. She is herself. Nicki Minaj is known for being quite the character and she owns that. During her career she has been known to speak her mind and also laugh at herself from time to time. She has no issue loving herself and dismissing anyone who tries to get her to change. 

5. She bares her soul in her music. Some of her past songs have given her audience a glimpse into what she has been through in the past. Her latest album “The Pinkprint” gave her fans a very deep look into who she truly is and what she feels. 

6. She also isn’t afraid to tell you exactly how she feels. She is open, honest, and does not take anyones crap. She is known for telling her female listeners to speak their mind no matter what the repercussions may be. Throughout her career she has been criticized several times for stepping on people’s toes with her comments, but she does not let that stop her from dominating! 

7. Once again she believes that women should be able to openly express their sexuality. She expresses her sexuality through her music and performances, but Minaj does not let her sexuality define her as a person. 

8. Another thing fans love about Nicki Minaj is her willingness to be goofy and out of the box. Her weirdness makes her more relatable and authentic.  

9. This picture speaks for itself. The Queen of Rap and Queen Bey, need I say more?  .  . . I really have nothing else to say, this is just a beautiful friendship. 

Minaj is a gem and should be valued for more than her body and lyrics. Aside from her music career Nicki Minaj is a very influential woman, and it is hard not to fall in love with her personality and heart.  She has a big butt, a bigger career, and an even bigger heart. Long live the Queen
