There are many movies hitting the big screen in 2019 to look forward to. I wish that I could see every movie that I deem interesting. Alas, I always happen to spend twenty plus dollars on a ticket and pricey snacks every time I go to the movie theater. In the end, that money adds up. I have narrowed down five upcoming movies that definitely seem worth the trip to the movie theater.

1. Zombieland: Double Tap

This action/horror/comedy flick is the sequel to Zombieland (2009) and finds iconic characters Columbus, Wichita, Tallahassee and Little Rock battling evolved zombies and other survivors. The characters clash it out with their opposing personalities, which is sure to make for a great laugh for the audience. This movie will make it to theaters on October 18th (USA).

2. Joker

Actor Joaquin Phoenix stars as the infamous Joker in this psychological thriller. The film centers around Arthur Fleck, a failed comedian who is confronted by dangerous criminals in Gotham, while dressed as a clown. Feeling ignored by society, Fleck begins to go mad as he evolves into the Joker, a criminal mastermind. This thriller is set to hit the movies on October 4th (USA).

3. Gemini Man

This upcoming science fiction movie has actor Will Smith portraying Henry Brogan, an elite assassin. Brogan has become a target of an anonymous operative who seems to be able to foresee his every action. In a horrifying discovery, Brogan realizes the operative attempting to kill him is a younger, quicker, duplicate of himself. The film will be released on October 11th (USA).

4. Last Christmas

Emilia Clarke portrays one of the main characters in this British-American romantic comedy. The plot focuses on Kate, a young woman who considers herself an unlucky person. For the holidays, she accepts a job as a store elf. When the mysterious Tom shows up at her job, Kate’s life begins to change for the better. This romantic comedy will make it to the big screen on November 8th (USA).

5. Frozen II

Anna and her sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, are once again going on an adventure filled with laughs, love, tears and self-discovery. This time the sisters are going far away from Arendelle, their homeland. They are joined by Olaf, Sven and Kristoff to save their kingdom and discover the beginnings of Elsa’s powers. The animated musical fantasy film will be released on November 22 (USA).

Her favorite song/motto is "The Show Goes On" by Lupe Fiasco because it encourages her that no matter what the obstacle may be, she can and will get through it.
