Spending Valentine’s Day At Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

Even though shops and restaurants are starting to open back up again after the craziness that was 2020, some people are still wary to eat out because of COVID-19. I know I am – and that makes celebrating Valentine’s Day with your boo a little difficult. But it doesn’t have to be, it can still be just as romantic at home!

If you’re like me, I use any special occasion as a chance to eat a nice steak at a steak house. However, this Valentine’s Day my boyfriend and I aren’t going to our usual date night spot because of COVID – so instead he’s decided to cook for me! Is that the sweetest thing or what?! I’ve decided to make it more romantic with candles and by baking him cookies – add a few adult beverages and BAM you have yourself a Valentine’s date at home!

Now we’ll probably also get each other gifts as well but that’s not always a necessity, especially when you’re celebrating at home. Sometimes I find celebrating certain holidays at home with your loved ones to be more cozy and intimate anyways – so really this is a blessing in disguise.
