Michaela’s Artist Spotlight: Abriel’s Release Party for New Single “Temptation”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Valdosta chapter.

After the success of her first single “Make Me Fall” (which was played onV96 and Underground Radio Station), VSU senior and Campus Celebrity Abriel Blake is back at it again! Her new single “Temptation” will be released July 6th at 8:00 p.m. To celebrate the release, she’s having a release party at Valdosta’s very own Creekside Tavern.

Abriel was very excited about all of the positive feedback she received from her first single. “I was glad that people genuinely enjoyed music I created,” she said. She’s thankful for all of the support she has from her peers at VSU. She also specifically thanks her fellow MAG members for supporting her dream. “I am just amazed at how many people believe in me and it is just remarkable.”

“Temptation” was guided by experience and was made to be relatable to everyone in his or her own way. “I know that everyone has been at a point in their life (or will be) where they will battle temptation, whether the circumstance is large or small.” Abriel uses her own understanding to relate to the personal experiences of others. She wants the listeners to hear her experience and make it their own. “For me, ‘Temptation’ unfolds a point in my life where I wanted to return to the past just to feel how I used to feel at a given time, even though what was in the past didn’t have my best interest at heart.”

The goal of the release party isn’t just for Abriel to promote her new single; she also wants to get acquainted with her supporters! “My ultimate goal is to get to know my supporters and share with them where my lyrics derive from and give them the opportunity to share this experience with me.” There will be giveaways, prizes, games, and even a live performance! The doors of Creekside Tavern open at 6:00 p.m and the party will begin at 6:30 p.m. If you didn’t RSVP, don’t worry! You can still attend by paying a one-dollar entry fee!

Abriel has a message for other aspiring artist at VSU: “If you are aspiring to do ANYTHING, whether it be an artist, makeup artist, pianist, whatever it is, do it to the best of your ability. Focus on your dream and you will never stray away from it! Believe in yourself so that others will believe in you as well. Stay motivated!”

Abriel plans on releasing and EP sometime in the spring of next year. Make sure to stay on the lookout for that, and support her at her release party!
