A lot of people made resolutions after New Year’s Day, and since the holiday season is over we have reentered the real world. Whether your goal is to study more, be healthier, save more money, or apply for an internship some of the habits you pick up while achieving your goal should stick around. We have all heard the overused phrase “New year, new me” but what if we actually implemented this plan by changing for the better? Some of our resolutions should not be short term goals they should be lifestyle changes and here are a few ways to ensure that you change your life for the better.

If your resolution revolves around saving more money you should work on budgeting skills all around. Setting a budget for yourself can ease some financial stress in your life. Saving money after ever paycheck is beneficial down the road, so if a summer class costs more than you thought you’ll have enough money stored away to help out. On the other hand, if you see those shoes you’ve been eyeing finally go on sale you will be able to get them.

If your resolution is to be healthier try to extend it beyond getting in shape for spring break or this summer. Working out more and eating more fruits and veggies is great. It can extend your life, improve your brain power, and much more. Also keep drinking all of that water, it makes a big difference in the long run. Want clearer skin? Drink more water. Want less painful cramps? Drink more water. Want your hair to flourish in 2016? Drink more water.

If your resolution deals with scheduling you should invest in a planner and work on time management. No matter if you are trying to study more, find more time for yourself, or work more, setting aside time for specific activities will come in handy. Although you cannot plan out every aspect of your life if you have a general routine for the important things in your life, i.e exercising, studying , or eating, you will find yourself in a better place.

Do not let the good habits and potential from your resolutions be a waste. Keep up the great work and change yourself for the better my friends.

HCXO!
