John Boyega seems to be in a bit of trouble after his speech at the Screen Nation Awards. After picking up the win for Best Male Performer he referenced the racial disparity in entertainment, and gave some advice on how to fix it stating,
“To complain about what is going on is not going to benefit us. It is not. Be the change you want to be. Be the change. And continue and focus. Thank you so much.”
Now, the diversity in media has been a topic as of late, and many people weren’t happy with his take on the whole thing. A few people even took to Twitter with their grievances.
He recently apologized for his comments in a short Twitter rant meant to clarify any confusion.
As far as I can tell it seems to have been a harmless mistake. What do you think? Should John Boyega be forgiven?
