It is midterm week for most students, the time where everyone is cramming in information. Most students are frustrated that our spring break got canceled and these wellness days only turn into a day of working or studying. That is why it is essential to take time out for yourself and relieve stress and focus on your menta health.

1.Self-care Day and Pampering

Whenever I am stress, I usually result to a self-care day. Sometimes this includes getting a pedicure, facial massage, and if I’m feeling up to it, a lovely day at the spa. Having time to care for yourself is an effective way to relieve stress. Having a pampering day has also been proving to improve sleep and tension from the body. Not only is this step helpful for the body, but it is also cost-effective and cheap if you are using home products.

2.Changing your environment

Sometimes you might need a change of environment. When I’m in my dorm studying, and I feel like I’m going to explode, I stop, breathe, and go outside and enjoy the weather. Even meeting up with great friends who can take you and off schoolwork or life troubles. If you have more time, taking a trip somewhere for the weekend is even a better way to leave all problems where they lie.

3.Meditate

Meditation has been around for years and was initially used to help individuals learn the true meaning of life. But now, people typically use it in many ways. For me, I meditate in the morning or when I find myself in stressful situations. Mediating is one of the best ways I feel that I can relieve stress. It’s easy, and it sometimes only require 10 minutes of your day. The benefits of mediation include an overall better perspective on a stressful situation and, overall, more peaceful. Anytime you’re feeling stress or down, remember to breathe and relax.

Stress is a frequent problem many college students face. We must take time to ensure that our mental health is always taken care of, no matter what life throws at us. With these three effortless steps, you can reduce stress overall.
